Here is a checklist of both suggested and required items that should be used to make sure that you have all of your materials for Band this year:
-Pencils
-Staff Paper (Refer to Link if desired)
-1 1" 3-ring black binder with clear protectors to store literature/music.
-Metronome and/or Tuner-highly recommended for keeping time and pitch during home practice!
-Pocket Music Dictionary
-Band Handbook
-Name Tag for instrument case
-Instrument Rental Form (if applicable)
-School Intrument Maintenance/Rental Fee (if applicable)
-Flip folder and lyre (for Football Games and Parades)
-Instrument Care Kit: Students should have an Instrument Care Kit, which contains cleaning supplies necessary and/or specific to each instrument.
All Woodwind Players should have:
-A cleaning cloth, rod, and/or swab
-Cork grease
-A box of Reeds with reed guards (preferably Vandoren)
-Neck straps
And if desired, polishing cloth, or cleaning kits.
All Brass Players should have:
-Valve oil or slide oil/grease (Blue Juice)
-Mutes (straight)
-Cleaning brushes or "snakes,"
-Squirt bottle for moistening of slides
-And if desired, polishing cloth or cleaning kits.
All Percussionists should have:
-A mallet bag which includes:
-At least two pairs each of drum sticks/snare sticks (2B)
-2 pair of timpani mallets: 1 generals and 1 soft
-1 pair of hard plastic bell mallets
-1 pair of rubber xylophone mallets and/or 1 pair of soft mallets-yarn for cymbals.
-Students may also wish to acquire brushes and/or a pitch pipe.
